Air to Air Cinematography

Capturing air-to-air footage using both camera helicopters and high-speed camera jets, AFA works with leading airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and the military to showcase aircraft in action. Each project is carefully co-ordinated to highlight the precision, power and design of aircraft in flight. These include helicopters, commercial airliners, military transporters and fast jets. Working alongside specialised film pilots, the AFA team offers skilled coordination and production planning services to deliver world-class images that emphasize movement, scale, action and elegance. Collaborating with top-tier documentary producers such as National Geographic, BBC, Discovery, Netflix and IMAX, we craft compelling images from the air, from land and at sea. Our Shotover camera systems are designed from the ground up to deliver the most advanced stabilisation and control. All of which comes to the fore in situations where conditions are rough or where larger/longer lenses are called for. Whether mounted on a jet, helicopter, boat or vehicle, our systems keep on working – no matter how extreme – to capture natural and wild environments.

Broadcast television

Aerial Film Australia’s broadcast services for live and recorded programming deliver quality aerial footage using either broadcast HD/4K systems or cinema-grade digital cameras. There’s nothing quite like a helicopter when epic camera angles or wide-ranging action needs to be covered. Our team collaborates closely with broadcast partners to ensure quality results – for live special events, large-scale live sporting fixtures and any other form of live or recorded television. In close collaboration with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, AFA has provided aerials for the epic Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks for over a decade.
